Art
Art classes are offered spring through fall in Yosemite Valley...or bring your own supplies and start sketching.

Auto touring
While you're encouraged to use shuttle buses where they are available, Yosemite has a few scenic drives.

Backpacking
Yosemite is mostly designated Wilderness, with plenty of opportunities for overnight hiking.

Biking
There are 12 miles of bicycle paths in Yosemite Valley and bicycles can be rented spring through fall.

Birdwatching
Yosemite is home to a variety of birds.

Botanizing
Pick up a book about trees or wildflowers and go in search of them. See how many you can identify.

Camping
Camping is a very popular way to spend the night in Yosemite.

Climbing
Yosemite is known around the world for its rock climbing.

Fishing
Streams and lakes are no longer stocked in Yosemite, but many people enjoy the solitude of fishing.

Hiking
Day hiking is a great way to see Yosemite--away from the crowds.

Horseback riding
Guided horse rides are available spring through fall, though some prefer to enjoy Yosemite on horseback on their own.

Ice Skating
During winter, outdoor ice skating is available.

Interpretive/ranger programs
Guided programs, including nature walks, are offered daily throughout the year!

Photography
It's hard to find a scene in Yosemite that's not worthy of a photograph!

Rafting
For a few months in late spring or early summer, calm water rafting is popular in Yosemite Valley and Wawona.

Skiing (cross-country & downhill)
With the onset of snow in December, many people strap on skis to get around the high country in winter. Downhill skiing is available at Badger Pass from mid-December through early April.

Snowboarding
Snowboarding is available at Badger Pass from mid December through early April.

Snowshoeing
Snowshoeing is a great activity for those interested in getting around in snow without learning how to ski.

Stargazing
Away from the lights of the city, Yosemite's dark sky is bright with stars.

Swimming
In summer, you can swim in a swimming pool...or try a lake or river.

Tours
A variety of bus or tram tours is available year-round.
